2. Description of Service

ZenCompass is a self-guided digital platform designed to help individuals navigate two areas of Australian law: (1) the intervention order process in Australian Magistrates' Courts, covering IVOs, AVOs, DVOs, FVROs, FVOs and similar protective orders across all Australian states and territories; and (2) family law parenting matters in the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia (FCFCOA), including parenting arrangements, consent orders, and related proceedings. The Service provides general legal information, document preparation tools, AI-powered guidance through Zen, case management features, court date reminders, and access to plain-English legal resources.

ZenCompass does not provide legal advice. The information provided through the Service is general in nature and should not be relied upon as a substitute for professional legal advice. You should seek independent legal advice where appropriate.

ZenCompass does not cover property settlement, divorce, nullity of marriage, child support calculations or disputes, spousal maintenance, or any other area of law outside intervention orders and family law parenting matters. Users who require assistance with these matters should contact a qualified Australian family lawyer or their state Legal Aid service.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years of age to use the Service. By using ZenCompass, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.

4. Account Registration

To access certain features, you must create an account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to update such information to keep it accurate. You are responsible for safeguarding your password and for all activities that occur under your account.

5. Free Trial & Subscription

ZenCompass offers the following subscription plans: Safe Start (free), IO Guide, FL Guide, Full Compass, and Zen Premium, as well as a Single Document credit option and an Organisations annual licence. Plan features, pricing, and availability are described on the pricing page at zencompass.com.au/pricing and may be updated from time to time. Current pricing applies at the time of subscription.

ZenCompass offers a free trial period. After the trial expires, continued access to premium features requires a paid subscription. Subscription fees, billing cycles, and cancellation terms will be communicated at the time of purchase.

We reserve the right to change subscription pricing with reasonable notice. Cancellation of your subscription will take effect at the end of your current billing period.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Service
• Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service
• Upload or transmit any malicious code, viruses, or harmful content
• Reproduce, duplicate, copy, sell, or resell any portion of the Service without express written permission
• Use the Service to harass, abuse, or harm another person

7. Intellectual Property

All content, features, and functionality of the Service — including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, software, and design — are owned by ZenCompass and are protected by Australian and international intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our prior written consent.

8. User Content

You retain ownership of any content you submit through the Service (such as case notes, documents, and uploaded files). By submitting content, you grant ZenCompass a limited licence to store, process, and display that content solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you.

9. AI-Generated Content

The Service uses artificial intelligence to generate guidance, document drafts, and suggestions. AI-generated content is provided for informational purposes only and may contain errors or inaccuracies. You are solely responsible for reviewing, verifying, and adapting any AI-generated content before use. ZenCompass does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or legal sufficiency of AI-generated output.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ZenCompass and its directors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses resulting from your use of the Service.

Under no circumstances shall ZenCompass be liable for any outcomes, decisions, or actions taken based on information provided through the Service, including AI-generated content or document drafts.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.

12. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account and access to the Service at our sole discretion, without prior notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users, us, or third parties, or for any other reason.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Commonwealth of Australia. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Australia.

14. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms on the Service with a revised "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the modified Terms.
